Admissions proposed for Fall 2027

Higher education.
Lower latitude.

A university afloat at the heart of Lake Ontario—where scholarship meets seamanship and every seminar has a view.

Proudly unranked since 2026

01 / THE MISSION

Maps change. Lakes remember. We’re founding a place of learning for people who believe a name is worth studying—and occasionally worth sailing toward.

Our proposed campus is a vessel stationed near the geographic center of Lake Ontario. The library rolls. Office hours depend on the weather. The horizon is compulsory.

Canadian and American perspectives meet on deck, where students learn to navigate history, machinery, language, and the lake itself—with all applicable laws and life jackets firmly observed.

02 / THE CURRICULUM

Study the lake
from the lake.

Four inaugural courses. No lecture hall required.

PIR 10101

Piracy & Maritime Folklore

A rigorous survey of privateers, mutiny, maritime myth, and the enduring politics of the Jolly Roger.

MEC 20402

Boat Mechanics

Learn what keeps a vessel moving—and what to try when it stops moving halfway to Kingston.

NOM 30103

Advanced Nomenclature

Names shape territory. Study cartography, contested place names, and the surprisingly high stakes of a label.

NAV 11804

Applied Border Navigation

A practical introduction to reading charts, respecting jurisdictions, and knowing exactly where the line is.

03 / CAMPUS LIFE

No quad.
Plenty of wake.

01

One moving campus moored between two countries and one very old lake.

02

Small-crew learning because every good seminar—and every good boat—has a capacity.

03

Freshwater scholarship conducted with curiosity, proper permits, and a healthy respect for weather.
